TECHNICAL SUPPORT - MAINTENANCE

For 49cc Scooters

Please refer to Owners Manual

  1. Once your scooter is properly assembled, please check and double check the following:
  2. Battery installed (red to pos and black to neg) with fluid filled to correct levels (between the fill lines).
  3. Oil reservoir filled with 2-cycle oil (see manual for correct amount). You want to run the scooter very rich on the oil for the first 500 miles. This will ensure the motor is properly lubricated, but the exhaust will be very white and heavy. This is normal.
  4. Gas tank filled with premium unleaded (92 octane or above). First three tanks of gas must also have two-cycle oil mixed in with gas at 40:1 ratio for proper lubrication and break-in. This is in addition to the oil in the oil reservoir.
  5. Ensure transmission has proper level of lubrication oil (see amount stamped on transmission near fill hole. USE ONLY 10W-40 GOOD QUALITY MOTOR OIL.

Starting Procedure:

  1. Place scooter on flat level surface and up on center kick stand.
  2. Turn key to on position all the way to the right.
  3. Turn kill switch to on position. (Kill switch is located on the right handle grip and slides right to left or up and down to turn on. On some models it is the headlight switch and must be in the on position. Lights will not turn on until scooter is running.)
  4. Pull the choke out and to the left (located under the left handle grip).
  5. Do not give any gas with throttle; use choke only.
  6. Squeeze left brake firmly to engage starter. This is a safety feature to avoid unintentional starting of the scooter.
  7. The first time you start your scooter use the kick-start to avoid draining the battery as it will take several minutes (8-15 kicks) to get gas from the tank to the carburetor the first time. Kick start while holding in choke and brake until scooter starts.
  8. Keep choke in for one to three minutes to warm up. Drive Safely and wear a helmet!!

Do not operate scooter at max speed for first few hundred miles as stated in manual. Engine can seize if not properly broken in.

In addition to the normal prep procedures, these above steps will help your scooter live a longer healthier life.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR BUSINESS.
